One of the officials who met in the headquarters of Google, in
Mountain View, California, is Caesar Sengupta, VP Product Management,
who led the effort called The Next Billion Users Effort.
"In general, there is a misconception that I often encounter (on Google) in my travels around the world," said Caesar.
Misunderstanding is meant is that "Google's enterprise search engines mere alias". "The search is part of a large, and very importantly, from Google. But it was part of a broad range of products, "he said.
According to Caesar, Google is a platform company. They created various platforms gathering place for users, both from
the developers (Android), maker of content (Google Search) or the
creator of the video (YouTube).
However, from all that, there is a "magic sauce" poured Google for all its products. "Magic of our sauce, we apply to all of this, is machine learning," said Caesar.
Machines that Can Learn Self
Machine Learning is a fairly broad term, because it is a sub-field of computer science.
Simply put, machine learning try to answer the following questions:
How to make a system that can learn on their own, and the longer the
better?
Machine learning involves things such as pattern recognition and artificial intelligence. From a machine learning algorithm should ideally be able to recognize, draw lessons and make predictions on the data.
Well, rather than more sophisticated, should be easier if you see its application. One exemplified Caesar is on Google Photos.
Photos current Google users can upload photographs indefinitely. From the collection of photos on it, it will automatically created categorization.
If you use these services, let alone go to Google Photos and search. One that immediately arises is the category People who automatically gather photos based on someone's face.
The more "magic" again when you try to type certain search keywords (in English). For example, enter the keyword "red car" and all the images with red car image can be found.
