In his blog made on April 23, as quoted by ZDNet, Andreas Kurtz who discovered the bug, perform experiments with the iPhone 4 to create IMAP e-mail account and try to send an e-mail with an attachment.
He then shut off their iOS device and try to access the system files with an application.
Kurtz then access the partition data in their iOS device, then access the e-mail folder. As it turned out, the files that are in e-mail attachments can be viewed in the folder without encryption.
Kurtz said, at least the bug has been around since iOS 7.0.4 version and the current version, 7.1.1. Therefore, the same thing he did with the iPhone 5's and iPad 2 running both operating systems.
Kurtz has reported the bug to Apple. Although Apple has admitted knowing the bug, but Apple until now has not released patches for the new operating system.
