Internet company Yahoo! sued by users for alleged negligent. The lawsuit was filed came a day after Yahoo claimed customer data was compromised.
Creative Bojez quoted from Anatarnews, Sunday (25/09/2016), file a
lawsuit was filed in federal court in San Jose, California, by Ronald
Schwartz, a resident of New York, on behalf of all users of Yahoo in the
United States, whose personal information leaked.
He tried to take the case into a class action with losses that can not be predicted.
As reported previously, Yahoo! ensure it has become a victim of hacker
attacks resulting in leakage of personal data of about 500 million
users of Internet services companies.
The stolen data included user names, e-mail address, telephone number,
date of birth, password-protected bcrypt, and answer questions
following security question.
"Our investigation concluded that the stolen information did not
include passwords without encryption, payment card data or bank account
information," Yahoo! said in a statement.
"We can confirm that a copy of a number of user information has been
stolen from the company's network in 2014 by the actor who backed
militia by the state," said Yahoo.
The
announcement comes uncomfortable in the middle of the process of
selling Yahoo Internet business worth 4.8 billion US dollars to the
prospective buyer, the mobile operator Verizon. Great impact and scale that could affect the new owners.
