BlackBerry Limited provides software licensing and BlackBerry services to PT BB Red and White to manufacture / assemble the Android handset for the Indonesian market.
"BB Red and White will create, distribute and promote branded BlackBerry devices that use Android BlackBerry software and applications are safe," the official statement received written BlackBerry BojezCreative, Wednesday (09/28/2016).
BlackBerry effort in producing Android phones in Indonesia is taken for the fulfillment of requirements of local content (DCL) set by the government for 4G mobile devices.

"By working with third parties such as the Red and White BB, BlackBerry can promote awareness of the company and the promise of achieving regional security and users worldwide," said BlackBerry CEO John Chen.
This cooperation is also expected to accelerate the BlackBerry overall focus in promoting the development of software, especially in developing and providing software licenses device, through the Mobility Solutions business division.
Earlier, the petroleum business unit has also been acquired by media group Emtek (PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk) from Indonesia. The cooperation is in terms of brand, software license agreements, and intellectual property rights over instant messaging applications BlackBerry Messenger (BBM).
